I was browsing the internet the other day, looking for a quick crochet project. I wanted it to be something I could work on and still watch Netflix. I came across a free coaster pattern called One Cup At A Time Coaster. The crochet pattern called for a lightweight yarn and informed us that we could play around with hook and yarn sizes. Because I did not have the right size yarn, I used a 4ply weight cotton yarn. I also went down two hook sizes. My coaster came out an inch larger than the pattern’s original size. I did a test run on some scrap yarn first, and it finished up at a quarter-inch bigger than my second one. I was happy with the final coaster.
The designer of this pattern is Christine Naugle, and she owns a crochet website called Sweet Potato 3 . It’s a good resource for free crochet patterns and tutorials. Sweet Potato3 also contains crochet patterns for sale. I plan on revisiting this website soon to discover more fun projects..
